Spyro is pretty much in a stand still, as you see if you look back on a chapter from his dreams, the eyes of which he saw was Nina's and the dark dragons. Good thing Cynder was there to get him out of the way.

(btw just to clear some things up, the dark dragons is not Malefor or his spirit XD; even though they have the same like curly two horns when faced forward a little bit, they have more detail on them even though you can't see it to much, cuz they are dark/black dragons. XD; )
